New England

Boston was our entry to New England and we tried both Lobster Roll and New England clam chowder here at the Quincy Market. Boston is a very nice city with many interesting hotspots – as I said we got the “traditional stuff” at the market. We got the biggest Canneloni ever and an enormous Boston Cream Puff in The North End (or Little Italy) and we got “Nouveau Indian Cuisine” on Newbury Street, the premier shopping street that will make your credit card burn a whole in your pocket crying ”let me out” 😉

We were two days in the Boston area and the second day we spent in and around Harvard University (Cambridge) – a very nice area with a lot of life and old red-brick buildings. Here we found a large toy store (or as Felix says – a Felix shop) called Curious George (Dansk: Peter Pedal). Curious George happens to be one of Felix’s favorites and he got another stuffed animal to his collection.

After Boston we spent two days in Cape Cod. We had, probably, the best campground I ever had. We parked in the forest, on top of a hill, with a view over a small lake (they called it a pond!). The first day we biked a bit around and got ice cream and cake at a nice coffee shop in Orleans. Here Sabine chatted with somebody who actually lived there and she suggested to go the Chatham Fishing Pier to buy some fish right off the boat and failing that at the shop next to the boat – it took a while for us to find it, but we got some super fresh cod for the evening (to be put on the grill with a macadamia nut crust) and scallops for the day after. Mmmmmmm.

The second day we went to the beach. First I took some pictures of the Cape Code light house (where children under 7!!! are not allowed up, because “it is too dangerous” – I never learn to understand this lack of trust in peoples’ abilities!) and afterwards we went to the beach. I had woken up with a stiff neck that morning and I was not up to moving, so I watched Felix play with the other kids while Sabine took a run on the beach.
