Out of Grand Canyon

On our way out of Grand Canyon many things didn’t go as we planned them. Firstly it was raining all afternoon the day before and we thought we would visit the “Tourist Trap” at the rim that day. In the morning we packed, not too early, and went down to dump and fill fresh water on the bus. When we were done we noticed that the holding tank was still not empty – no matter what we did it didn’t want to empty.

We went down to take our shower – that was planned – and then we headed for the Turist Trap. Sabine had an eye for a small Indian basket she wanted – and I wanted some lunch at this time. We hung around here a while, and then we went to the Maswik lodge as they should have internet (I tried at another loge the day before – but that didn’t work even though they said it should).

How long can it take to submit such blog entry? A lot longer than I anticipated, so it was 17:30 before we started our drive to Zion. With at least four hours in front of us there were no chance we could do this without getting hungry – so given the thunder clouds we decided to stop for the sunset at Desert View at the east exit.

Waurw .. we are so happy we did it – ok – we came to bed at 2:00 (am) PDT – or 3:00 Utah time, but so what .. it was worth it.

Here are three pictures of the 152 I took in about an hour!
