Information about these pages

On these pages I will try to tell about the Djernæs family. I will try to give information about where the family comes from, who they are etc. I will also try to give this as a option for tieing the family together - I have received some mails from people out in the world, which have the name Djernæs or know that the name was a part of the family, and they wanted to know if were could be family. For most of them I were not able to tell for sure, but there is a big chance.

Inspired by that I hope that you will send your information about your part of the family, so we can get all the loose ends tied together.

Since the family comes from Denmark (as far as I know at the moment) the pages ought to be in Danish, but considered that most Danes speak/read English, and I use to write all my web pages in English, I will in the beginning only write in English (and that will also continue to be the master langage) but Danish version is to come.

My main source of information, is a family book which I got from my farther some years ago. The book is written in 1972 by a Cai Mygind from Brønshøj, Denmark. I am not able to find him, and get his permission to reprint the book on the internet. The book is written in Danish, and in a, for me, verry old fasioned Danish (you should think that it were from 1872 end not 1972!), so therefore I will prefere to write his information with my words (in English).

The 29th of Juni 1998 I got a mail from Judy Damewood, who showed up being related via my greath-grandfather, and she have being sending me more information about the family (especially the part who lives in the USA). Inspired by this information, I have created a family tree going three generations back (seen from my point of view), and more will come.

If you know a bit about the Djernæs family, you probally know that we have an anchester were called Preetzmann. My cusin Sigrid are working on getting information about that part of the family all the way back to 1500, so there is a lot of information to make avalible here.
